Finland is one of the best places on Earth to spot the Northern Lights - they appear on more than 200 nights a year in Finnish Lapland, however there is much more to Finland than the sensational luminescent sky displays.
Our Resort
The area is exquisite in its natural beauty, with vast expanses of pine forest stretching out as far as the eye can see. Tunturi (small rounded fells) crop up between the densely packed trees and of course the stark climactic conditions add an extra element of beauty. It is sparsely populated, making it the ideal place if you are after some tranquillity and serenity. Though of course as you’ll be travelling with a group, you won’t be short of company. Of course, Lapland is famed for being the home of Santa Claus and this fairytale element is something that really suits the beautiful scenery and magical feel of this unique travel destination.

A cosy hotel with everything you need in the centre of Rovaniemi. Rooms with Lappish atmosphere, a stylish restaurant and friendly service will guarantee an unforgettable visit to the Arctic Circle.
Stylishly decorated rooms are finished with wooden panels from floor to ceiling, making it very much in keeping with the Lapland interior.
Accommodation
Scandic Rovaniemi City’s rooms feature modern design, wooden floors and comfortable easy chairs. All have a TV and a bathroom with a shower. The local atmosphere is an integral part of the hotel experience, which is reflected in the stylishly decorated rooms.

In the hotel restaurant, sample Nordic and local delicacies served from lunch to dinner and you can also enjoy a drink at the hotel bar with friends. Relax in our sauna which is located on the top and keep up with your daily exercise in our modern gym.
In addition, the hotel has a well-equipped 24-hour shop that sells coffee, drinks, small snacks and practical supplies. All areas of our hotel have free Wi-Fi.

Day 1 – Welcome to Rovaniemi
As you step off your plane at Rovaniemi Airport, the gateway to the Arctic, our warm hospitality begins. A seamless transfer takes you to the charming Hotel Scandic Rovaniemi, your home away from home. Cosy rooms await your arrival, and as the day settles, indulge in a delightful dinner to kickstart your Arctic escapade.
Day 2 – Magical Northern Light Hunting Tour
Awaken to the crisp Finnish morning and savour a hearty breakfast at the hotel. With a day at leisure, explore the local wonders. As evening falls, embark on a journey to our private Lappish cottage in Pattaskivalo, a mere 35 km north. Here, the Northern Lights dance across the Arctic sky as you enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime Aurora Northern Light Hunting experience, complemented by a traditional Lappish BBQ. To add thrill to your night, hop on a snowmobile sledge and traverse the snowy landscapes under the celestial display.
Day 3 – An Adventurous Day in Local Husky Farm
After a fulfilling breakfast, venture to a local Husky farm, where eager huskies await your arrival. Engage in a guided tour, learning about these spirited animals and receiving driving and safety instructions. Your heart-pounding adventure begins as you embark on a 45 to 60-minute husky safari, forging a connection with these incredible creatures. The day concludes back at the hotel, where dinner awaits, and tales of the day's exploits are shared.
Day 4 – Snowmobile safari
Gear up for an adrenaline-pumping day with a hearty breakfast. In the early afternoon, meet your guide for snowmobile driving instructions. Embark on a thrilling safari through snow-laden forests and frozen lakes, immersing yourself in the breathtaking winter scenery. Two persons per snowmobile, requires valid driving licenses and you carve through the snowy landscapes, creating lasting memories. After the adventure, unwind in the hotel sauna before relishing a delectable Lappish dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Day 5 - Departure to the UK
Savour your last breakfast in Rovaniemi before bidding farewell. Your journey comes to a close as you travel back to Rovaniemi Airport, carrying cherished memories of your Arctic adventure. Depart for the UK with a heart full of stories and the magic of Rovaniemi lingering in your soul.
